My chickens are locked up in the chicken yard and henhouse this time of the year. If I were to let them loose in the rest of the yard -- where my organic vegetable beds are -- they'd wreck my garden beds in no time flat.
But that doesn't mean that they cannot enjoy nice, fresh, green weeds from the beds!
I have been cleaning the beds in anticipation of planting, and there is this wonderful, easy to pull up, green weed that has taken over much of my beds.
I filled two wheelbarrows full of this nice, fresh weed and dumped them in their chicken yard this afternoon for them to eat and play in.
Those kids are thoroughly enjoying life right now!
