Today starts week #2 with these gals! I feel a huge accomplishment that week one is done and all are happy and healthy. As a first time chicken owner it can be stressful and overwhelming but this site has helped me so much, what an invaluable asset.

Okay from top to bottom:

Rocket (SS). As you can see a bit smaller than the others but she holds her own! Not to smart but according to the Kardashians if your pretty you don't need to be smart :tongue
Gretchen (dark EE) Also a little fiesty.
Thelma (BA) This chick is the calmest, what a sweetie
Regina (Light EE) She is the largest of all and a bit pushy, would not be surprised if she is top hen
Louis (BR) Also pretty calm and sweet

They look good! What is the temp of your brooder? I have one on week 2 yesterday and she is not quite as feathered out as yours look. Maybe I should drop the temp. The faster you drop the temp the faster they will feather out, that’s why I’m curious!

I have been using the MHP set at medium. I also have been keeping the bathroom window opened for fresh air and sun and have closed the heating vent that goes to the bathroom. The daytime temps here in the day are 40-50ish. I do notice they go in and out of the MHP and sometimes I see them all smushed in a pile on top of the MHP. I most likely will drop the heating pad to the next level. My plan is to get them into the coop by week 4 or 5.
