So my 6 RiR are now in week 3... they have wings, and are starting tail features.

See 3 of them here:

It was a straight run. I've noticed that 5 of the 6 have tail features starting.. the other 1, bearly so.. so I'm hoping I've got 5 hens, one roo.. we'll see.

I've noticed that they like to jump and try to fly (infact they kind of do), they can even get off the ground. The regularly 'play' with each other, flying into each other, trying to one up each other.. a lot of what I'd consider youthful behavior I think. They even face off each other off. I'm hoping this 'contention' is typical of pullets too, is not a sign I've got a bunch of roos.

Comments?

Feathering might not be that indicitive unless they were bred fast and slow feathering parents. Fighting is normal at this age. Gender behavior does not really occur till 8+ weeks old.
