Time will tell, but I don't see "cockerel" just yet.8 weeks old! The eye is doing great! And the slightly curled toes are completely straightened out nowcompletely normal little chicken feet!
Still praying it's a hen, those wattles make me nervous though!

Wow!Here we are at nearly 14 weeks.
The right eye is working but I think there is limited sight in it. The chick moves its head in a sideways manner to try and focus sometimes but overall it can still see out of the eye which is great. It's not even the lowest on the pecking order! Pictures of both eyes so you can see the difference in them. It is clear that there is some deformity but I'm just happy it can see OK and it eats well

Those wattles have me a little worried but I don't see any male feathering anywhere and the combs still small so I'm staying optimistic for a hen.
I will probably update again in a couple of weeks when it's nearing fully grown/maturity to see the final outcome![]()
Wow!
It's been almost 3 months since the first post and I just love seeing how much Fritter has grown and how well she's doing!
Yes, you can tell there's something that happened to the eye, but I think it looks very good.
Possible she does have some limited vision in the Right eye, but it sounds like she's managing o.k.
Interesting short article about chicken's eyes.

Look at that impressive comb, I love it!20 weeks old! Definitely a hen, she's looking like she's nearing POL. Sweet as can be, and that comb is crazy! Look at how funky she is!
