Week old chicks and day old chicks

Is it okay to have week old chicks and day olds in the same brooder or will they not get along?

I would seperate them with wire so they can get used to each other. If that goes well try them together as long as you can keep an eye on them. I'm a newbie but i think that they will integrate being that close to the same age. Good Luck and I'm sure someone with more experience will give some advice.

Should be ok just watch them at first. I have never had a problem mixing in new chicks when they are this close in age, they just seem to blend right in. But I did observe them closely at first just to make sure.

I put day-olds in with my week-olds last weekend. I was SO worried -- I watched really closely, prepared to break up any fights or pecking. There was no need -- they were perfectly fine with each other. (What a relief!) Good luck!
