Hi! Any thoughts much appreciated!

These birds were bought from McMurrays 3.5 months ago. There were 4 Barred Rock females ordered. One of them is turning out quite a bit smaller than the other three, and has frizzly pointy hackle feathers with a much finer color pattern. Her comb appears the same in shape, size and color as her age matched peers. Her attitude is similar, not more docile or outgoing (all four of them are nosy Barred Rocks, love them!).

What is going on? Is she bantam? Is she a cockerel? Is she a different breed?
My kids have named her "Pebble" and she will be much loved regardless of what she is.

(I will add pix from my phone in a minute)

Yes pictures would definitely help! I believe McMurray also sells Silver Penciled Rocks. Could be a possibility or she could be a different breed or bantam variety as well.

Her neck feathers are so frizzy! Open up that first picture to look at her closeup!
She just doesn't look like the others did when they were younger. I will get more pictures during daylight tomorrow.

I agree. Barred Rock. Those are some interesting looking hackle feathers though. She does look pretty feminine. More than likely one of those "weirdo" chickens that have different feather growth patterns and lag a little behind the others. She's a pretty bird nonetheless!
