Weird Breathing - 1YO Hen

She was fine this morning, just came out to do some afternoon yard time and this is how she’s breathing. She’s still active, scratching and running around. Sound on to hear the raspy squeak. Any clues?

From what I have read it may be stridor?

Thank you! This feels right, will bring her inside and keep an eye on it.

It sounds like stridor, but more high pitched and her breathing seems labored and rapid. Could she have something stuck in her airway? A small piece of feed or a foreign body could be the problem. Hopefully she will cough it up. Is she drinking fluids? I would encourage that tonight. Many times stridor will clear within a few hours. Let us know how she is doing by morning.

I couldn’t see anything when I checked her throat, but she seems fine this morning! She’s taking a small extra breath after bath each drink, but if something was stuck her throat might be irritated?

It sounds like a piece of feed was stuck, and now is gone. She will probably be fine, but just keep an eye on her today.
