Ewwww..locusts, maybe..not sure there was stink bugs. They're nasty enough, though, so it could be!

surely you've lived in Florida long enough to get a little used to all the dang bugs?!

my chickens will not eat stink bugs. but they love the giganto "palmetto" bugs.

Demon WP. Great stuff. Even kills Black Widows.

Those in the pics are what we've always called Damsel Bugs, kinda like Assassin Bugs...I know they go by several names, but we've always called the 'stink bug' those big black beetles that walk around with their ample rump in the air.

If they're Damsel or Assassin bugs they eat a lot of spiders and other insects.

It's been on the news here (Missouri), that there has been a big increase in stink bugs this year-but I don't remember if they gave a reason for the increase-maybe the heat?

I'm a Florida native, Aggie, and I HATE BUGS!! I'd rather see a rat in my house than a roach or spider. I don't do well with things that give me the heebie-jeebies and anything creepy-crawly does just that! I have my self convinced that if I'm always on the lookout I won't be taken by surprise, but I know they watch me and just wait for me to get a little too comfortable!

Ditto that. I've been having a problem with the Black and Brown Widows recently. Serious heebie-jeebies. Check your shoes before you put them on...

I wonder if spraying them with cooking oil like Pam might work? It works for some other things.
