Weird bug EVERYWHERE in and around coop

That's so funny..we keep our crocs, muck boots and anything else that's especially yucky on the screened patio and I always think about that right AFTER I stick my foot down into a boot. You gotta know how much I love when the wolf spiders and the brown recluse get in the house and I sure as heck don't want them in my shoe..and especially one that I can't get out of quickly!

I'm up for trying anything! I'm a little afraid of the dish soap because of the birds. They wouldn't mess with it, would they?

When I get ready to put my muck boots on I throw them across the garage first.... then I watch to see if anything runs out...

And actually, Dewey, since the concept with the dish soap is that it suffocates them, cooking spray might work even better, but would it also attract other creepy-crawlies?? Hmmm...

Neither the Pam nor the dish soap should hurt the chickens. The soap would just give them diarrhea if they drank a lot of it. They use it on oiled birds for clean up after spills.

...ew, I'd hope not, lol! I'm not a big fan of bugs, either, lol. Farmers love those bugs here, or at least what they look like in the pic since they devour bugs that damage crops (eta: they don't eat plants only bugs)...they eat spider mites, too.

I know brake cleaner would kill instantly, but move the chickens out of the area when you spray!! Remove the dead bugs. I don't think it leaves any residue behind once it evaporates. Be careful though, it might remove house paint, kill the grass or trees, etc... I know it works well when you want to kill something NOW! Stops them dead in their tracks, but doesn't last but a second. So you only kill what is sprayed and nothing that comes by later.

I like this idea ! Just after you get them in the vac leave it on and spray some bug killer down the vac it will kill all the bugs inside. Then you can just dump them in the trash .
