Weird bug EVERYWHERE in and around coop

...ew, I'd hope not, lol! I'm not a big fan of bugs, either, lol. Farmers love those bugs here, or at least what they look like in the pic since they devour bugs that damage crops (eta: they don't eat plants only bugs)...they eat spider mites, too.

That's the weird thing..there's NOTHING green ANYWHERE in the coop or run. The chickens have turned the whole run into a giant dust/sand bath and the closest trees are several feet away. There's nothing in there for them to eat. It didn't even look as though they were bothering with the mess on the poop board.

Watch out! They now know that you are planning their demise so they are coming for you.
I was reading and as far as the soapy water it will work but there is a catch. They say you have to catch the stink bugs
and put them in a bucket of saopy water, then you can flush it down you toilet to get rid of them.
I did see where someone with stinkbug problems took a hand sprayer and filled it with rubbing alcohol
and sprayed the bugs. Spray them down good and the alcohol witll evaporate and leave no residue.

If you had any idea how many goosebumps I have just sitting here talking/thinking about them, you'd know that I absolutely will not attempt to catch them! I will invest in a high-powered spray bottle that I can use to attack from at least 20 feet! I probably won't be able to sleep tonight and they're out there multiplying and laughing at me!

Wonder if they could be after spiders or other bugs or their eggs maybe? Maybe so many have hatched in the dog days of august that they ran out of room in the inn in the nearby greenery. I don't even know if they are truly damsel bugs or even if you guys have those in FL...whatever it is I hope they migrate or are "relocated" away from your coop!

Just don't try it with wasps...I found out they can fly faster than I can run, especially while using all the air in my lungs to scream.

You know, I rarely even see a spider in there..or any other bug for that matter, that's why it's so weird. There's truly nothing in there that I think could be attracting them. Now, MAYBE their eggs were in there..brought in by flies or something and, since it's been hotter and drier that the gates of you-know-where for over a week, they just popped big time. All I know is I want them gone or the kids are going to get really tired of gathering eggs cuz my butt won't be in there!

My inlaws in PA have the stinkbugs every fall like the plague. RESCUE a company that makes bug traps has a trap you can get for them-they just came out with it this year-this is their facebook site

http://www.facebook.com/#!/rescuepestcontrol

says they should be moving in by sept. so you need to get ready--we haven't had the stinkbugs here yet-just the asian beetles which are just as bad-the stinkbugs have becoem a problem in the last couple of years to the point that is makes the local news in places---hope this helps.

It looks like the masked hunter bug that we get. They are good bugs because they eat not so good bugs. Google it and see if they look the same. I rescue any I find. If it is, it means you have some insect around that they really like to eat.

They look alot like box elder bugs, which do the same thing- cluster and congregate, especially on the front of my house. Box elders have a small red pattern on their back though.
