Okay, thanksThat isn't two air cells... it's a quitter. Toss it.
Happy hatching!![]()
That’s a infertile egg just yolkView attachment 1772304 View attachment 1772305 I’m on day 14 of my hatch, and I have 6 eggs set. 5 of them are doing great, but there is one egg that appears very oddly and seems to have two air cells? Here are some pics I took of candling. Should I through the egg out? Thanks in advance.
It's just yolk now, but I'm pretty sure I see blood vessels that have retracted... which would mean it started developing and quit. Making it a quitter... which is not the same as infertile. Infertile eggs will have zero development ever. That’s a infertile egg just yolk
How much fluctuation? Also, the first day I had some fluctuating temperatures. I was wondering if these fluctuations could cause errors in the hatch. Thanks
Ok, thanks for the information. I’m so close now I’ll just wait it out and see what happens! How much fluctuation?
It could... but probably not... eggs left in nest before being incubated by a broody will experience fluctuations every time a hen sits to lay another egg, temp rises to about 102. Then it's left overnight, temp drops to whatever the overnight low is (40 here). And this goes on until a clutch is collected.
