Weird egg deformity

Hi I want some knowledge from any eggsperts on here. My new white Sussex has laid its first egg when moved to my run. It’s egg (pictured below) looks like this. I’ve given them some oyster shells along with there normal layers pellets (I hope they eat them). Is she going to become egg bound and die and is there a chance she’ll have ever lay a normal egg?

By the way the egg is soft like it’s just membranous

I recommend keeping the oyster shells in a SEPERATE container and in a place where it cannot get wet. Chickens are usually pretty good about regulating their own calcium needs/intake. Being her first egg, I wouldn't worry very much as first timers often have glitches when starting out. So yes, its totally possible and very likely that she will lay normal eggs in the future. Just keep an eye on her and that's about it.

Oh and if you are feeding layer feed, then she is likely already getting her calcium requirements and therefore may not need to eat from your oyster shell stash very often, so don't worry if that's the case.

It doesn't hurt to offer OS free feed even when they're on layer. New layers do have some issues at times but it's not consistent.

It mean that it is always available for them to eat,
best kept in a separate container from the layer feed.

and in a place where it cannot get wet.

It won't hurt it if it gets wet.

Pullets just starting to lay will squeeze out some strange looking eggs for a few weeks. Some are really creative at what they make. It may take a month or so before all the kinks get worked out and normal eggs are produced.
