Weird erratic neck movement?

Good morning everyone! I just checked on the girls and she's not moving her neck like that anymore. I tried to feel her neck and there's no swelling at all either. I guess I'll keep everyone posted and if I notice any issues with her neck in the near future ill let you all know!

Pleased to hear that she is better although I must confess I was hoping to find out a little more about what might have been causing it. It was pretty radical stuff going on there for a while.....I'm going to stick with swallowing a live frog that was trying to get back out. Probably not the actual cause, but just rather looked like that!

Thank you BYC again! I looked through a bunch of YT videos that were no help at all. I just experienced this with my rooster today. His crop was empty midday and he was doing this neck movement. I gave him some coconut oil and some raw fatty hamburger meat and now it's stopped. I think he just ate something that got stuck, but the greasy food seemed to help it slip down. He's eating and back to doing what rooster's do. Thank God it was just something simple!

I examined my cockerel who was making the same strange movements in his neck after reading this thread. It looked exactly like the video here. Right away, I could feel the crop was hard. I gave him some olive oil, massaged, and then a few ml of water with poultry electrolytes and vitamins. The mass broke up and went down. This morning the crop was empty, so I think he probably gobbled a good sized frog or lizard. It's also been very hot here and the older hens are bullying him away from the waterer, so I'm making sure he has access to another container of water. He's fine now.
