For those interested in the M31 object it is quite a site.
The Andromeda Galaxy is in the constellation Andromeda. In the
norther hemisphere it is very close to the circumpolar constellations.
which means for the most part it is directly overhead. Circumpolar
constellations surround the north star polaris and do not set.
Look for Cassiopeia (AKA the Big "W" in the sky) is is directly south of
her.
It is best seen on a clear night with no clouds. When looking that direction
your eye will catch a small eliptical cloud. That is not a cloud but
The Andromeda Galaxy. For those who have binoculars or a small
backyard telescope the sight is even better.
Good luck. Try it out.
P.s another real treat is M42. The third star in Orion's belt is hazy.
It is not a star but actually a nebula (or a star nursery) Stars are being
born there. It too is a naked eye object.
