I’m curious if anyone has seen a growth like this in the past. It’s on my hen’s right side and seems to go into her mouth too. Doesn’t look like a canker. Doesn’t smell either. Maybe cancerous? Spider bite? She’s eating fine and is very active. She’s my oldest chicken - a year close to 8 years old.

Yes, it appears to be a tumor. It's anyone's guess if it's malignant, though. Maybe not. As long as she eats okay and is enjoying life, I wouldn't mess with it.

I have an eleven-year old hen with a tumor over her eye. It's been slowly growing for six years, and doesn't affect her life at all other than occasional bubbling in the eye which I treat with Vetericyn eye gel. She's mostly blind in her right eye, and can't compete very well for treats, so she and her other elderly buddies get segregated at treat time so they have a shot at getting some.

An eleven year old hen! I hope I become a good enough keeper to have one or some of those someday!
