I just noticed that it is always one and the same hen that lays weird eggs and is constantly eggbound , this is totally abnormal and especially given the facts here :
1. always acces to water and good quality feed
2. all other birds just lay their eggs
3. she does not get bullied or etc , and is a happy hen
4. not obese , no other factors I can match to her issue
5. she is a laying hen ( Isa brown , cinnamon queen , golden comets , whatever and has lived her life doing nothing else but laying eggs ? )
so what could be the cause of this and what to do about it ??
acces to grit etc , water : garlic + applecidervinegar , a lot of proteines and calcium etc , vitamines .... )
nestboxes : she goes in but tries to push and constantly sits in there like forever ,
no succes what so ever , not even bathing her helped , not even putting her in a high temp room , calciumshot is given a few times before this time and ended up with succes after LONG time , ending up with an egg like this :
take 3 other eggs from same breed and put it on a scale , now take the egg she lays and it is the same weight of THREE LARGE eggs , what in the world is this girls issue ???
her eggs also have odd color , her previous one looks half white , half brown ?
questionable case here

Sadly, reproductive tract problems are rather common in production bred birds. The problem lies in her genetics not your husbandry.
hi , yes it was kinda weird because this is already for the 4th time ! and constantly giving those injections with calcium is really bad for her and also my wallet ! now update , I got shocked !
I came up to the idea of taking a good look at that egg from before , and the other eggs , now be ready here , two eggs out of 3eggs are double yolks !!!! pointy eggs with bloodsplashes now I candled it , first I just assumed an odd color only , no there is blood on the eggs too , no wonder this girl is constantly eggbound ! because it is just like mentioned the weight of three eggs ! big round end on the other side of the egg and I compared it with other eggs in the carton , o my goodness ! this is wrong ! poor girl is constantly in deep pain ! I did take a lightbulb and just took the eggs one by one and noticed an OBVIOUS and clear appearance of two yolks , I have no idea about the future of this girl but it looks so bad ??? is there now really nothing I can do ?? Getting her a normal life , come on , this girl is indeed already doomed with a crossbeak , a sad start and is now happy besides the eggboundfacts , at first I assumed it was due to stress , chickens disappear and come , new environment and so much to discover , learn , and now this would suddenly pull the plug or what am I supposed to do for her ? she is a great hen in every other aspect , stopping grit etc ?? I am clueless and I refuse giving up on these chickens no matter what . and as you mention it : she already has a crossbeak and an abnormality in her feet ( she has like this little extra toe or so )

P.s. a little bit extra info : her vent is also looking as if ... ok now I have to try to watch the language but if you look at it her vent sticks out , not a prolapse but it is really looking like a huge bellybutton and it looks "open " if you understand what I am refering to , really need to do something about my English , I apoligize !!!
