Weird noise and Behavior

If you have fake eggs/golf balls I'd go ahead and put them in now, so your chicken can start seeing it as a good spot to lay. All my pullets began laying within about 5-10 days after squatting, there's no hard and fast rule though.
We don't have anything in the nesting box except shavings and hay that have been there for just insulation. What should I make/do besides putting in golf balls (I will do that when I get home) like, should I make a nest or area for her sit in out of cardboard or something? I have a lot of cardboard laying around, or I could make due with some throwaway chinese container or something :lau. This is obviously going to be my first egg so I'm sorry if I sound a little dumb.:idunno
Anything else I should know or do to the box?

Can you take a photo of the inside, where you expect her to lay? From the photo of your coop, it looks like you may have a nesting box built off the end?

Yes, it's popping out of the coop, not built in. It's a tractor coop. I don't have a pic right now, but I'll try and find or take one.
EDIT: We built it as we built the coop and it ISN'T detachable. Just to clear up any questions.

My nest box is just an old dog house with pine shavings and a folded up feed bag as a liner/padding. And a couple golf balls. As long as you can convince the chickens it's a good safe place to lay they'll figure out the rest.

You posted pics of your nest area before.......I suggested some additions.
