Eggs with that shape are not too uncommon. I have some Black Sex Links that lay eggs shaped similar to that. I have not personally seen a bubble like that though.

I got this weird two-toned egg from Bella, my EE, today.
It's VERY rough feeling and has geometrical shapes on it.
Can't get a good photo but if you look closely you can see them.

Is she a new layer...old layer?

New layers can take up to a month or so to get everything in smooth running order

Any hen, but especially new and old layers, can put out some funky eggs, excess calcium(rough spots), two toned(coating spray booth glitch).

As long as it is just one or two every once in a awhile, it's nothing to be concerned about.....if it becomes constant, then there may be a health/reproductive issue.

She is a young hen.
She often has rough eggs, but never a two tone like this!

I do notice her eating a lot of shell supplement.
Perhaps I should take it out of the coop.

She is a sweetheart and lays beautiful eggs consistently.
