WEIRD or ODD Eggs pics!!!! :)

one of my hens is laying eggs with a dark (possibly bloody) spot on the end. Any ideas why? Thanks

I have another egg from Whitey, except this time its huge & SOFTSHELLED!!!, It was actually really hard to break the soft shell, & the yolk was huge & stood up like 1/2 an inch! She just dropped it out while sitting up on the roost, it bounced down in the straw!

Oooh heres something I have to ask!

All my birds are brown egg layers, they have laid brown eggs from day one. Last week, we got 2 very light cream colored eggs, almost white! Whats up with that?! Are my birds sick or lacking in vitamins?

Reurra: Most likely explanation for the near white eggs is that the hens were short of the pigments needed that day.

I will show you what one of my girls dropped, doesn't it look like a chicken toe? yes you do want to do this it is as fun as it can be frustrating at times.

Yep the stuff that comes out of their BUTTS can definately be interesting LOL and a surprise!!!

You are so right,they do drop some surprising gifts. The one my girl gave was very soft and it was only the white inside, your shell looks harder. she still has not laid a normal egg as a matter of fact she as not dropped anything since two days after when she may have dropped another soft shell in the garden the rest were chowing down

by the time I got out there to see what she was doing. I do not get how they figured out that they can eat what falls out of their butts, they do know the difference between an egg and poop.
