My Chicken surprised us with the biggest chicken egg I've ever seen in my life!! Why I wonder did this happen?

It may be a double yolk. Sometimes I get big eggs like that and I think they are going to be a double yolk but they turn out as single yolk but with a large yolk. I have never incubated a large egg like that but some have and at least a couple of BYC members have hatched twins successfully but mostly the twins don't make it to hatch. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/610297/holy-egg-pic#post_8061926

OMG!!! I just had a baby a few months ago and after seeing some of these monsters I realize I have nothing to complain about L M T F O (laugh my tail feathers off) we've had some small ones, and bigger ones, and even some with a couple of rough spots but nothing like these... I can't wait until our newest girls start laying so I have something to show off

it looks like an egg went backwards in the track and was fused to a second egg. If it had gone further back it would have been an egg in an egg.
