WEIRD or ODD Eggs pics!!!! :)

What is a wind egg
It's little tiny egg that often has no yolk. Usually laid by new layers or older hens coming back into lay after a molt or at the end of her laying life.

The 3 posts before yours that I quoted are wind eggs.

This strange egg came from a duck, this is her 2nd season of laying and she has laid several normal eggs and then this happens. Is it a symptom of something worrisome? Should we try to up their calcium?

Is that a soft 'shell'.....or just some tissue attached to a normal shell?
Probably not a problem if it only happens once, sometimes there are glitches in the egg machine.

It is a soft/no shell egg with a squiggle of membrane attached. We have found one other similar egg in last 10 days and one hard shell egg with a squiggle of extra shell. Reasonably sure it is from an Ancona duck or maybe a Rouen duck.

I suggest you post your pics and descriptions in the duck forum to get the best and quickest feedback.

All three of these were laid by the same hen, who has been laying about two weeks. The first looks like a 3D map of the world...

The second was crunched up a little in the nest, so of course my son peeled it. It also had an oval shaped area that was darker than the rest...

And this one was under the roost and "cracked" (it actually was not hard, although normal color -- is this a soft shell or no shell???) with normal yolk and white that I was lucky to find before anyone ate it!

Looks like it backed up and got reshelled

shelless eggs...happen

That's the order, but she laid normal (plus calcium) eggs in between. And the amount of extra calcium varies. And she has laid 14 eggs in the 16 days she has been laying! So she seems to be a pretty good layer -- just need to get these kinks worked out!
