Weird 'pinched' egg?

The shell was small and literally twisted/pinched off at the small end. There was a blob of what I can only describe as 'the dark color that should have gone on the outside of a Marans egg, only it didn't go on properly'.

I'm going to start crushing up a calcium tablet daily and adding it to their wet mash, as they won't eat the oyster shell and something is visibly wrong with at least the Maran's eggs.

Looks to me like just one of those things that happens from time to time.
I would look at other sources of calcium - crushed egg shells, yogurt, powdered milk on their feed.
 
My daughter, who generally doesn't like eggs, immediately asked to eat it (and the one she collected at the same time, shown in the picture with the freak egg). Those two pullet eggs scrambled was a pitiful bit of scrambled eggs.
