Please take a look at this poo. It's bright orange and red and she hasn't eaten any fruit today. Should I be concerned? It felt like intestinal lining but I can't account for the orange.

1) Buff Orpington 8 months old
2) Orange and red poo. Tried to lay an egg three times today and hasn't laid one.
3) She's only been acting weird today
4) No other birds seem to have orange poo.

7) Bird eats fermented feed and organic crumble for layers.
8) How does the poop look? see attached photo.

I would place her in a dog crate today on an old towel or puppy pad with food and water available to collect a few more droppings. If you see more of the droppings, and especially if she is acting sleepy or puffed up, I would get some Corid (amprollium) at the feed store to treat for possible coccidiosis. Dosage is 1 1/2 tsp of the powder per gallon of water for 5-7 days. Liquid Corid is 2 tsp or 10 ml per gallon.

We treated all of them with Corid about a month ago. And no I dont think she ate a tomatoe today.

Is she acting normal? It may not be a big deal. Occasional intestinal shed as in the picture is acceptable, but if it happens again or she seems droopy, you may need to give another round of Corid. By her age she should be developing resistance to coccidia in the soil and poop, unless she has a problem with immunity.
