These few days, I have always been hearing screams coming from the backyard coming from the chickens. But, when I go check, things seem to be going fine. They have been doing this for quite a few days and around the same time in the morning. I was wondering if this was some kind of call? Or a special type of problem. The screams are always random squawks that usually appear out of nowhere. If you have experience in this, please leave a comment on the situation. Thanks! :)

Is it more of a Bawwwwwwwkkkkkkk , or a long wailing?
In the morning, yep, they want to be fed and are crying. Mine do it all the time, they'll do it also when they see me in the yard, and they are still caged up, because they want to be let out.

It's normal Id say

Its more of a Bawwwwwwwwwkkkk Bawwwk Bawk repeatedly. My friend goes out every morning to let them out and feed them.

Yep, if it was my hens, that is the classic, hey Hooman! YOU are HOME NOW, WE are still locked up, what gives, let us out NOW !! Before food, or if they do free range and the cage door is shut, yep, It's getting lighter out earlier now, Im guess you and your friend are still sleeping in to what 7 am, 8 am or whatever time? It's light, they been caged up for 40 minutes of daylight now, instead of maybe 5 mins back in February, they want out. They don't do 'time' they do, it's daylight let us out.

My Light Sussex did three screaming squawking extremely loud noises this afternoon, I think it’s some dust issue from the dirt poofing up into the air and it’s a sneeze 🤧 she’s done this before but now she sounds a bit like me and my hay fever! Lol 😆 she’s turning into big Mumma Chook!

I have a six-month old Barnevelder who growls like a cat or dog just because, and squawks loudly throughout the day. This morning when a couple of her flockmates looked in on her while she was sitting in a nest box, she made these blood-curdling screams that sounded human. I've tried to upload the videos here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/15tm7UUcZg3jeQ-81eEKghMG1U-WsENpz?usp=sharing. Is this normal???

Ahh finally! I have this issue with just one of my rir's. Ordinarily I would be fine with it, however we live in a residential area, and the neighbours are not impressed. My rir moans constantly in the morning, they always have food and water available, but she will still moan for a few good hours until she's had enough. I have tried splashing water on her, loudly saying no, even giving her what she wants! She just won't be quiet. Any ideas on what else we can do?
