Weird thing coming from their butts!!!!

Okay, so the cold weather is here, and egg laying has slowed way down;
but the other day......and then again this evening......there was
'something' weird hanging from one of my Sussex's butt! It was just hanging there, so I helped it out by grabbing the end with a paper towel.
Then I saw the exact same thing going on with one of the other Sussex! (Helped her out as well.....ewwwww!)
It's hard to describe, and I neglected to take a picture, but it was off white in color.....about 4-4 1/2 inches long......wrinkled, length-ways, kind of
like a deflated balloon! I thought it was some sort of internal worm (tape worm, perhaps?) so I wormed them with Wazine, and will follow in 10 days
with 'pour-on Ivermectin'.
Then, this evening I went into the coop after dark.......when they were all roosting already....and Of course, everyone then hops down to explore for what treats I might
have dropped.........then one of the chickens hops back on the roost, and bends over to nab something off the droppings board. When I looked to see what
she was after, it was another one of those deflated balloon, wrinkled, off-white things.........................but this time these was some yellow yoke at one end!
So now I am thinking all these 'worm-y' looking things might be malformed, cold weather "eggs"??????????
Any ideas folks?
Ever seen or heard of something like this????

Also, how long to withold eating eggs after wazine and ivermectin please?

Your birds need more calcium. That is egg shells not formed. Give them oyster shell or ground egg shells.

i dont know how long to with hold the eggs but you have intestinal worms (which i am sure you have fiqured out)
also keep cayan pepper in with there feed it will help keep em at bay

It sounds to me like you just have under developed eggs. My girls have given me these before-usually when they start laying-although this is my first winter with chickens so who knows....I may get more. Ditto on the oyster shell. It makes for stronger shelled eggs.

Intestinal worms with a yoke attached?????
They 'are' on layer pellets, and have free access to crushed oyster shells.............
when they 'first' started laying.......a couple very soft shelled eggs were found here and there (but they were
'round' in shape, and had the egg white inside).......and then
once they figured everything out, and their bodies caught up wit their minds......
Their eggs were just fine, until this really cold weather hit!

How can an intestinal worm have a yoke as part of it?
That's why I'm thinkin' these are 'winter' eggs of some sort............................

I will try to get some pictures and re-post in a couple days.................I am not going back out there now to pick thru
the bag of poo that I sift off the pine shaving on the droppiing board. Nope, not going back out there now.

Hmm....I have had some of these eggs in the middle of summer to the tune of 90 degree weather. My one hen that did that had never laid a "proper" egg. It was always something messed up either wrinkled double shell or no shell at all. I wonder if it is an illness that causes their laying to freak out? Or if it is just genetic defect. I'll be watching this thread
