thank you, ruth, for the nice message. my daughter&i recently became the proud owners of 3 (hopefully!!!) pullets..........a buff orpington, a rhode island red & a white leghorn. they are about one month old and soso cute. we have wanted chickens for a long time but live in a town where poultry is illegal............only if someone reports you...........and finally moved into a house with a great private yard with no close neighbors. so unless, god forbid, we have a rooster in the group we should be fine. i will be posting photos later in the gender&breed section and will let everyone take their guesses on what they are. anyway, i have found a wealth of helpful info on this website and everyone is so nice. i am sure i will be posting a lot of questions in the future. thank you, everyone, in advance.

I am so excited to have found you guys.
I've learned so much already and will soon be experiencing my first hatch. (Eggs come next week)
I know I wouldn't feel near as comfortable doing it if it wasn't for everyone's willingness to share their knowledge and experiences.

Thanks for the kind welcome! I have asked a few questions already on here and everyone that replied was very nice! We got our chickens today, they are 11 barred rocks and 12 hubbard isa browns. Way too cute!!! I'm sure I will have plenty of questions!
