Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Also just found out my cousin passed away..... Cripes he was only 48.
Stage 4 throat cancer....I never knew he was sick. Of course I haven't seen him in at least 15 years.
Funny how I'm the one with all the health issues..... But I keep plugging along.
I guess he was at least happy he could go hang out at deer camp this year.
Yikes! He was so young! Again..stupid, stupid cancer. Praying for your family!

I moved all my birds to a new, larger coop yesterday. This morning I noticed Scooter [Ancona drake] was chasing Drake [another drake, obviously, lol] non-stop and not letting him near the others much. Is this normal, and will they calm down soon? Sorry, I have owned exactly four drakes total, and three of them are in the coop right now. So, no experience to go off of. Ducks and chickens are different enough that I'm hesitant to apply my thoughts and actions that I would do with cockerels pesting each other.

When i had 8 drakes at the farm, they would routinely chase one single one. Alienated him badly, at one point. I guess he was the lowest on the totem pole, and was their designated.. um... "female substitute".
The Calls have also been extra mean to Ion at times, but they finally let him into the group, and now he is their protector. Will shoo away any chicken that gets too close to the group. I did feel the need to rescue him a few times when they were young, but they eventually did work it out.
I would say it will depend on your overall dynamics, as to what may happen.
Sorry, I know that isn't much help though.

WOW.... Didn't realize you had such a low opinoin about me....
:hugshuh? I hope you didn't take it that way. . it was supposed to be a compliment meaning that you know how to do so many things other people can't do it would be a shame to waste your time doing mundane things like fetching milk.
Sorry if it didn't come across that way.
Also so sorry to hear about your cousin. That's a real bummer. :hugs

I hope when I move mine it doesn't mess up their dynamics! They have all been getting along well for a while now. But my two drake are brothers and do everything together. Sadly that includes breeding. . but so far the girls don't seem to mind. They tussle a little bit over the girls but nothing serious yet.

I'm not any help in this area at all. I was very lucky, Rav kept my Drake to hen ratios in check for me. So of the 16 I have, only 4 are Drakes. I assume that'll mean little fighting amongst the boys...:fl

I would expect moving yours all into their new palace at one time should not be an issue at all! They will all be scared at the same time lol
Pics are looking great. Gonna be able to move them soon??

I'm sorry!!! :hugs
Yeah it pretty much sucks.... But I don't really know him anymore.... We hung around allot as kids..... But I moved away 35 years ago and my family isn't close..... Heck my brother moved up here years ago lives to miles away and we hardly ever talk..... He only talks to my mom once a year on mother's day.
So we aren't a close family...
.
...... Too much drama.
