I have seen some of your interactions with her. What I want to ask her is, how long has she lived there? Because if she's been there for any length of time, she should know that just because it's "warm" in October, winter is coming, and it's going to be cold. Being that far north, even an average winter would likely be too cold for 9 week old chicks to be without heat.

Quite true. She should know that October is the month of hopes---and November is the month when they're dashed. Every year it seems as if maybe we won't get a bad winter, until we do.

I hadn't read the heating coops thread until now... Smuvers gave her a good old fashioned dressing down. It was good.

Let’s see, Julia and maybell are going to drop any time, Lucy is still a month out, daphne and Heidi are likely bred, Trixie is starting to look bred, Janet didn’t take till nearly December and cocoa may or may not have taken. So between 6-8 are due.

She and I just had a minor interaction on the "What Breed are They" thread. Next post I will reiterate to her that 'true intelligence is knowing your limitations'. Last time I suggested that, she asked if I was calling her stupid. Who, me ?

I'm beginning to feel it's a "don't throw pearls to swine" situation with her. Maybe if we all ignore her for a while, she will lose interest and go away.

That's pretty dang cold. And my mistake, my 9 week olds are bantam cochins with momma. My youngest seramas are 15 weeks, and still sleep next to momma too. They are so tiny, I forgot they were that old till I looked it up.



We are around 33F this morning, and it's unreal the difference between that and sub-zero last week.

It's 50 here this morning...come on down and warm your bones!
