Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Hello Pond! I swear i need to start a thread called my misadventures with guineas! Stuff keeps happening!
This morning early i woke up to use the bathroom. My keets are in there. I noticed the light was out! Good thing i noticed! Poor babies. I had drama with them before, as soon as i opened the bator...they all started jumping out! Fell from waist high to the floor in a room with 2 cats and a dog! Then in the confusion of it all, the power bar got turned off. i was late for my appointment , and went off for the day. Returned at 8 pm. Bator was stone cold but somehow the keet i helped hatch lived! But i think the eggs are dead. Only a few left anyway. Good hatch, got 18 keets from a first time bator.

Been busy so too far behind to totally catch up again so I will just say a huge THANK YOU to everyone for the prayers and good wishes on my onc roadtrip (still in remission, :wee) and good thoughts for my pupper. Not as good a result for her. They had to go ahead and debraid (sp?) her cornea and so I have two different antibiotic eye drops that have to be alternated every two hours and an anti-inflammatory to help with the pain. Have to keep up this routine until next Friday so I'm grounded for the week. :fl:fl:fl If this doesn't work then it's a more radical procedure that will require her eye to be sewn shut until it heals.

Yep. You're getting hit with this crazy weather "daisy chain" first. Can you believe they are trying to blame all this snow on global warming????
:lau

A swamp rat! :lau
I'll take hot and humid over cold anytime!:gig
The thing is... when it's cold you can keep putting clothes on. When it's hot and humid (hot is OK, humid I hate) you can only take so much off. When you get down to nothing, then what?

Sorry about all the troubles! :hugs

I think the same of all the folks that live in tornado alley or the miserable humid heat of Florida. At least you can hide under blankie in front of a warm fire when the weather goes to crap up here. As for driving in the stuff, when it's bad, not unusual to be the only car for a mile or more which makes it a lot easier (and safer).
It is rarely humid here, but this morning after that crazy downpour we had all day yesterday and all night last night, it was ridiculously humid. I don't think I've sweat that much on a run since I ran in Arkansas one summer. No need for rain when you're raining on yourself!!

Yeah, we don't usually get much of a spring here. It tends to go from 60° to 100° in a couple of weeks. This has probably been one of our longest/greenest so far...

Huge racket this morning outside... My big yellow coop fell over. It was the coop that came with the house and I had noticed there was some erosion around one of the brick piles used to keep it up off the ground. This morning's deluge must have been the final straw. Thankfully the boys are all home and we can go out and get it set up again. (I'm going to build a better base for it first!)

But... it's still hot and melty when you get down to nothing! (OK, I have central AC in my house, but outside is yucky!)

 Were there any birds in it when it went?
