All I know is it can't have pain reliever. You can also use coconut oil or Vaseline...

I do this lovingly.... :smack
but the non-pain-reliever thing is not accurate. There isn't enough pain reliever in those ointments to hurt a bird.

Please help, anyone, here’s the pics what do I do?

You've gone that far, if its still alive, it will start to wiggle out soon. Usually you don't need to remove that much shell. Just the end cap (air cell) will usually do it.

Okay, so what's the deal about the pain reliever in some varieties of Neosporin? I feel like I have read and re-read the "do not use" the stuff about a hundred times. Pretty sure Sunshine and company was the first place I'd heard of it.

Oh WV.... thank gosh .... I peeled her out of it and she’s bleeding a little at her bottom I put steptic powder on it.... I’m a wreck!!!

Breathe honey. Its ok. You got her out. Now just keep her on something soft, and let her rest and gain some strength.
Sorry the Brinsea hasn't done well for you. I've heard mixed reviews, so I've held off buying one.

I think it started when someone said "I don't know about the pain reliever part" and someone ran with it. Its been debunked though - @casportpony may help us with the particulars. There is maybe some evidence of "-caine" (lidocaine, etc) possibly being harmful, but Neosporin with a little pain reliever in it doesn't contain enough to hurt.

I personally have used an entire tube of Neo WITH pain reliever on my birds, because it was all I had.

I'm not saying to go out of your way to find stuff WITH it, but if its all ya got, its not going to do any harm.

This one was started years ago here on BYC... let me see if I can find the post.
The steptic powder is ok?
The stypic powder is use has benzocaine in it and hasn't killed anything of mine. And thisnk about it, would a comany put a picture of a valuble bird on the label if there was any chance it was harmful?
