Was having a great weekend until my trustworthy border collie proved to be untrustworthy. She ripped the feathers off the back of a little crippled hen we have and tore the skin on the back of her neck.

I blame myself for not being vigilant. The dog has been so protective over the chickens for so long I didn't worry about it. And I was nearby when she did it!

So last night I candled the 21 eggs under the duck (she was only suppose to have ten) out of 21 only 3 were clear.

Too right, Rav! I wouldn't mind but as a blh - there's as much meat on a 6 week old chick - so there'd be only enough for one person, on a good day. Still, on the upside, my pretend araucana gives me some nice blue eggs, so i can almost forgive the breeder
