Omg this was dead in my yard today. I almost had a panic attack thinking it was a duck at first.. . but couldn't figure how it would have gotten out. Got closer to see what the heck it was. . is it a seagull??

Lakes yes. Oceans. . no. I'm in Missouri. I have never seen a seagull in my yard. Must have just been passing through.Yep, looks like a seagull. Are you near the ocean or any lakes? We have a lot of them around here thanks to Lake George, Lake Champlain, and Lake Bomoseen.
Our closest lake is about 24 miles away. But we do have lots of ponds around. Hubby says they hang out at the irrigation ponds with the geese![]()
Oh noooo....Finally just solved a mystery
Couldn't figure out what was going on at the wild bird feeder. I would fill it up with sunflower seeds and of course it was getting visited pretty heavily with our unusually cold (for this time of year) weather, but I would check it when I went out at dark to lock the chooks in and it would still be about half full. First light in the morning I look out and it's empty!(It's hung high in the tree so the deer and turkeys can't get into it.) It's been dark here now for well over an hour so I decided to shine my flashlight on the feeder and I caught the culprits.
A cute pair of flying squirrels! Little stinkers, should have known. I had the same problem on a different feeder several years ago. There is so much seed disappearing they are either filling an entire hollow tree or there are more then just these two bandits.Last time I found a pair had taken over one of our bird houses and had it stuffed full of chicken feathers and overflowing with seeds
