Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Baby, it's cold outside! Its' 5* right now, with a windchill of -18. I know, Phil, it's balmy by your standards, but it was 33* here yesterday morning! I haven't had time to adjust! We have officially entered the, "It takes more time for me to bundlel up to go outside than I actually spend out there" season. One frozen egg so far today.
:th :hugs

I just love this thread. It’s classic BYC I’ve got a badge. :lauThere should be one of those little placards that says ‘what he/she said’.
Oh well.:confused::he

You're very kind and thank you for the support. It wasn't my intention to sound the pond alarm though.
There are many others, I won't go into who because you will know better than I, who are a lot better mannered and a lot better informed.

You don't have to pretend to be modest here Shad. Take the dang star, but use caution, it might be rigged with something.;)

So, here’s a bit of a story.
I suppose I would describe myself as an agnostic if put under pressure.
The other people who live here are atheists.
My eldest daughter married a very lovely Catholic polish man.
My youngest daughter is living with Kurdish man who is a Muslim.
Christmas eve was spent with my eldest daughters husbands family who I know well. We went to mass and had a traditional ‘Polish’ Christmas eve.
16 at the dinner table.
Christmas day I went with my eldest to her boyfriends family and their friends. Obviously they don’t celebrate Christmas but being in the UK and aware of the importance of the Christmas festival they had arranged a lunch. No table, or chairs; every one had cushions and sat on the floor.
Both events I really enjoyed. Really welcoming and generous people and they don’t have a lot of spare anything.

A comment from some members of my family when I mentioned what I had done over Christmas; ‘but you’re not religious so why would you go to mass?’ My reply, 'I’m not ignorant either’. There are times that I just want to slap people........
I went to church once..... It was a midnight Christmas Mass at Lackland AFB during basic training..... It gave is a chance to get away from basic training..... Have a few cigarettes.... But I found the whole experience awesome..... Although I'm not Catholic.... Heck I don't know what I am.....

Welcome back! Looks like you had an interesting trip.

Hello, Pond!
Well, not too much snow yet. Only about 6 1/2" of super wet, heavy stuff. At least it won't blow around too terribly much when the wind picks up later. The falling snow will make a mess, though. Still fairly warm, too - about 33*. Quite a lovely day right now, actually.
We never got the 14" + inches they called for.... Got about 6. Then it started to rain...I plowed all my neighors out yesterday... Didn't do my place... Now I'm screwed as out turned to sloppy slush and now is frozen and rough... Neighbors look okay though... My anyways.... Now it's snowing and blowing and nasty....
