Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

'Communicators' what does that mean ? Seriously, the answer would be a resounding NO. Princess calls son weekly and gets to talk with that family. Daughter and her Type A household are hard to catch up with. Daughter is especially busy now that she has purchased a transcription business. Why? Damned if I know.

No. :hit Daughter and her family went to California to be with grandson who is in college there. Son and his family were coming today, but we just cancelled them. Princess got sick last night. We thought she was okay, but when she got up we discovered she is far less than 100%. Better for her to rest today and not expose anyone else if she is contagious.

Tomorrow is granddaughter's birthday so if 'E' is okay we will visit that family, and perhaps next week we will go to Annapolis to see son and his family.

Darn I hope Princess feels better. I know you will take good care of her. The other stuff will work out eventually :hugs

Found out right before Christmas that my only brother has stage 4 lung cancer that has possibly spread to his spine & kidneys. He's diabetic, was/is a heavy drinker, drug user (not the sharpest knife in the drawer), & was already in the hospital for an infection that started in a toe & wouldn't heal. Toe was amputated, then the foot, & finally the leg, just below the knee. Survival rate beyond 5 years is 2% or less. He'll be 61 in February if he makes it that far.
:hugssorry to hear this whites.

Oh... :hugs

Bobbi! Being back in the classroom, I think about you often! How's your year going?
It’s going well, thank you! I spend my mornings working on “functional skills” with my 8th grader. So we do laundry, cook, wash dishes and vacuum. He was so proud of himself a few weeks ago - the day before my birthday he said he wanted to make nachos for me, so I got nachos for breakfast on my birthday! He put the chips on the plate, put a ton is shredded cheese on the chips and then melted the cheese in the microwave. He even asked if I wanted juice or milk with them. My afternoons are spent in 4th grade, just offering extra help to a couple of students.
He's in western NC, not far from the TN line. He just got transferred to the Cancer Center of Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem.

No, we haven't been close in a whole lot of years. With the difference in ages, I wasn't around him much when he was little; he was only 8 when I married. He was always in & out of trouble as an adolescent, got into illicit drugs & alcohol, & was generally a screw-up. I tried to establish a relationship with him several years ago, again, but finally wrote him off when he screwed over our father & got into me for over $17k, which I've known for years that I'd never see. Still, he's my brother, & I feel obligated to go see him while I can. My one sister's in a nursing home & wouldn't know him if she tripped over him (dementia), & I'm not sure the other would go see him; he's left a real bad taste in all our mouths.
And this is when I think that being an only child isn’t all bad.

Sorry your plans got canceled! Hoping the Princess recovers soon. :hugsTomorrow is my granddaughter’s birthday, too. She’ll be 3. We were invited down to celebrate, but can’t go. DH has snow to move, we have over night guests coming, and a funeral for a member of our church family (the overnight guests are a former pastor and his wife - he will be doing the service). We will video chat with them, though. It’s not the same, but better than nothing.

That sounds so great! I love that your school puts an emphasis on life skills! :)

Taking roosters to the swap this morning. Don't hate me - going to be 60 and sunny today. :)
But, we are doing a ton of land clearing. E has been studying up on the difference between houses in our neighborhood that made it and those that didn't and has formulated a plan.
Good luck at the swap! We have plenty of sun, but if you could send just a little of that 60* here, I’d appreciate it. It’s up to -8* now. It was -13* when we left for town.

I have to go through that on the 2nd ....I have seven deeply entrenched planer warts on both feet.... Months of acid and freezing haven't touched them.... Under the knife now....
I hope it goes well Phil! :fl
Play the horizontal piñata game?

I hope you're able to go visit with him.
@kwhites634 , sorry - can't like that.

Good morning Pond. Son and his family are coming today for 'Christmas'. Princess was very ill last night, and I thought we would have to cancel, but she is okay this morning. We did eat out last night. Possibly food poisoning ?
I sure hope she gets to feelinh better soon! :fl
Thanks, Lisa!
It's so nice having my people back - although daughter has decided to cause some drama, so yeah... always something. :)
Nothin like a bit of drama is there..:hugs
:) It's doing pretty well! I can do about 4 miles of continuous running, but if I go farther, I have to take walk breaks.
Glad to hear you're able to do some runnin! :hugs

Afternoon Pondies..:frow
