I'm looking forward to sleep.
Two idiots on horses cam galloping up the track past the Muscovy duck house this afternoon. I've seen and stopped them before. They were both drunk the last time.
Jenny, Muscovy duck female, is scared of horses, galloping horses terrify her and she takes flight. She flew 2.5 kilometers this afternoon and I eventually found her sitting in the middle of a field two farms down the mountain. She followed me all the way back up the track walking.
I'm going to be hard pressed not to drag this pair off their horses next time I see them. There is even a notice asking people to lead their horses through this part of the track because chickens, ducks and sheep use it.
There has been a dog barking in the woods on the slope leading to the East ridge. This sets the dogs here off and eventually I went to investigate. I found a hunting dog with its collar caught on a broken branch. The poor dogs used for hunting here are very badly treated and the 'hunters' often just leave them behind. This one was in bad shape. Of course, I got bitten trying to release it; not badly but annoying because I now have to watch for infection. I fed it and took it to the track that leads to the farm that holds these dogs for the 'hunters'.
