Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Before my sister got married, her husband decided to convert to our religion. He had to take a bath before a rabbi and get circumcised as an adult .

He must have wanted her pretty badly. Of course he had a lot of gambling debts and never had a decent job in his life, so my sister supported him for almost 50 years. He died 4 days before their 50 anniversary of lung cancer.

So glad your recovery is going well Chicki! And no, I can't imagine not being able to carry more than 20-40 pounds, but I think it would be nice to always be able to say "hon, doctors orders, you'll have to carry this for me..."

I'm good, just had a couple work projects that kept me super busy. Plus a bunch of hatching going on at my place. Lots of new ducklings, chicks, squabs, and more broodies still on eggs. :p

I guess the biggest news that I haven't shared here is that we have a new 14 year old son!

Turns out that my hubby fathered a child, just a few months before we started dating, and the grandmother just got in touch with us a couple months ago. DNA says the boy is his, but I could tell from pictures, without a test! Anyway, we've spent some time with him already, he came over for a weekend with the 16-year old son, and they had a total blast. Couldn't have hoped for any better outcome. He got to meet all his siblings, nieces, nephews, etc... Its been a bit crazy, but surprisingly pleasant!

Other than that, its been really hot here, but it has allowed me to get almost all the chicks and ducklings out of the house. Only 5 ducklings still inside. Coop clean-outs are slow, but I'm working through them too.

@perchie.girl when's the surgery?
Oh WOW! He's a lucky boy for sure!
Im glad it's all going well! :love
Guess it's a bit late to throw you a baby shower tho..:p
I've tried that downsizing talk here..............they listened, had a meeting and at the time the spokesperson Harold said they didn't think it was their problem.
:lau
Finally caught a break. Colonoscopy results came back negative for cancer; diverticulitis, instead
That is great news! :clap:hugs
Look what I have! Or rather, what Zilla, Finn, and Lacie have:

I only had my cell phone so I couldn't get a great picture. I'll have to get out the Nikon and see if I can get a cute family photo.

Zilla did all the sitting, and Finn is the father. Lacie or Zilla could both be the mother(s). All three will take care of them.

Zilla had eggs that still hadn't hatched. I took them all and candled, and six look to potentially still be viable, though they were cold. They're in my incubator now.
Congrats! They're so adorable! :love
I got goslings Sunday! They’re about 2-2 1/2 months I think.

Hope you can get the roos foot cleared up soon, poor guy! :fl
Feeling better got my blood sugar up to normal ranges... Peanut butter and apple.... did the trick.

The whole reason I wanted to do this was to get off Diabetis medication and blood pressure medication. As my blood sugar goes down with the very restricted diet I am going to have to test more often and write it down.... But the little test strip holder has a memory of about a thousand tests... along with the time.

So far now I have had Blood sugar drops on three out of four days. At times when I am doing more physical things... Walking and house work taking my walker in and out of vehicles. its big and heavy probably heavier than a standard wheelchair.

I am trying to put together the situations as ammo to get my Diabetes meds adjusted... Believe me they dont want me to pass out during the prescribed walks down the hall.

Oh and All of the bariatric patients get a Bariatric Moosie.... Stuffed moose desidned to hug around the middle to put pressure on your stommach when you walk... I cant wait to get my very own Moosie. Silly I know....

they are stuffed firm so that when YOu have to cough then it helps with the pain.
Apparently they arent into much of the way of pain meds.

When I had a Csection thirty years ago on MediCal... They sent us home the next day and siad... Walk... and use a pillow to support your stommach. It worked ....

I am sorry I am rambling on... I am scared spitless and you all are my only peeple to talk to.

You need to remember that this is something you want to do for YOU!

@perchie.girl , ramble on - we're here for support. :hugs
I think it was three in the morning.... Thanks....

never been so scared in my life. Doesn't help to read statistics on line.

I did read one paper that while too technical was talking about the Laproscopic Gasstric Sleeve surgery and its uses and successes.... Started out as a Pre Rouin Y surgery for the extremely morbidly obese. And they found out it was a very good alternative for less dramatic weight loss.

What I did find out was that There was a seventy percent chance that older people back out.... Were Talking in my age range. I think its that whole Adjusting old habits and routines and ways to comfort yourselves. In my case That all applies Because I know how to make myself feel better physically using diet. I never listened to the signals I am getting now. because i rarely had them.

BUT.... in my defense I am not a trench walker... Dont particularly engoy having only my head sticking out. I wanna climb over the edge and "DO" stuff i have never done. Matter of fact once I turn away from something I rarely go back to do it again. This weight has thrown me into a trench and the longer I am here I Hate it more.

So moving forward up the incline to out.... tomorrow is June... Today I get my hair cut. I am going to walk the parking lot a little. Before going back to the car.

Time to fill my daily pill container.... interruptions suck... I hate doing it in the morning.

Yes it is.... I am doing it because its in my genes to live to over 100. Being active till I am in my early ninety's...

I keep dreaming about my horse and riding.... Not about dead horses and looking for them. I dont know when my dreams flipped over but I think thats very hopeful

Oh and even after having lost forty pounds my BMI is still MOrbid. At 53....

But its the Co Morbidity that I want to deal with... Type 2 diabetis, Blood pressure, Vascular issues, Pain in my joints, Depression, Anxiety.......

I am already seeing results for Diabetis... Yes... :yesss: scary till I found out what it was....

One chink down is knowing what to expect.
