Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Tell me about floaters. I've had some as long as I can remember. I was making cookies several years and suddenly it looked like I had a huge chocolate splotch over one eye. Checked it out in the mirror. Nothing showed up. Saw the eye doctor,he said floaters were like paint drying on a wall. When they were dry they would fall off. Never saw that!
He said since I had such a big one, I wouldn't be getting any more floaters. What a lie that was. Still have them but usually they are tiny. When I look at the monitor, sometimes it seems like tiny gnats. Probably was then, I was raising lots of indoor plants.

But plants are long gone and I still see probably some once or more a day at the computer. Sounds like the eye doctors need to get their act together and come up with one semi believable statement.

Finally a wild duck sat on the platform that we made!

No nesting...... but nice that he thought it was a good perch.View attachment 1797378

It was a good end to my day.... just saw him as I pulled on to park..... just got home from the town 2 hours away... I had to drive up there because I thought that my retina was detaching.

Turns out it wasn't. .. it is
1. I am old and my eye jelly is getting smaller, so pulling away a bit at the edges and so caused a huge floater... it does mean more stress is being put on my retina for the next 6 weeks... so I have to pay close attention in case it does detach.

2. I am stressed and so my body made a tiny bubble of liquid under the retina... that is messing with my vision... but is NOT permanent... and will go away as soon as I destress. :idunno
What kind of duck is that Al? So cool! :clap

Sorry about the floaters. Total suck. My dad has a bad time with those. :hugs
Eh... :idunno I have always had floaters... like as a little kid I already had some... the gift of poor eyesight just keeps giving....

But right now the floaters are HUGE, and new and messing with my vision.

It is very much like a big tobacco stain fingerprint in the middle of the vision of my left eye.

With the added bonus of the middle part of my field of vision in my left eye all fuzzy... (that is from the stress bubbles behind the retina). :idunno

Doc said if I try to just stay upright 24/7 the huge tobacco stain floater will hopefully settle on the bottom of my eye sooner rather than later ....

Total understanding here girl. Don't let your IQ outsmart you (been there done that). Take a deep breath, vent to us all you need to. We're here, pond dwellers have big shoulders you know. You'll pull up your big girl panties and "git er done" that's who you are. Just keep your eyes focused on the goal, getting the life you want back. Just try not to think about all that work you'll be able to do on your place once you can ;)
I am my own worst enemy.

@shawluvsbirds - Shaw! How are you? All adjusted to the summer schedule? I am so looking forward to not settling an alarm on Monday. I wonder how people who work year around do it????

I like staying up as late as I want and sleeping till I wake up. I've been pretty lazy so far. . but work is coming.. I have an announcement.
We bought some property!
With an old school house on it that we plan to restore so we will have a huge shop. . with living quarters in the back. :celebrate

Lots of work ahead. . but I'm so excited!

Women don't need to pick up old men, they follow us everywhere. Nothing against age, just like to do the flirting myself.
no old men here....
No men in general...

I prefer flirting in person.... so Unless I go hit up the bars there I sit.... I plan on going dancing eventually..... Me Loves to dance.
