Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

We've actually thought about that. But I don't know what it would entail to be able to live in a camper come winter.
Well, if it came down to it you could probaby set it up inside the school. We pulled the 2 campers into the dome for the first winter and worked around them. Moved em outside in the spring.
Granted, it gets much colder there but it might work..:fl
And I'd have to have a place ready for the ducks first. . they will probably get to move in before we do :lau

Best idea I've seen in a while, if it's feasible. :goodpost: :thumbsup

I'm fortunate my hubby is nice and let's the birds out for me in the mornings. Just ducks here, no chickens.

Well. .you haven't been around me here enough to see the things my husband builds.
He is a contractor, builds all metal buildings for a living.
This place is right close to the work shop where his crew meets and works. He has worked for this family for close to 20 years. We will have access to borrow the kind of equipment we need to do whatever needs done.. And access to sheet metal at discount prices. .or sometimes free when traded for labor.
A lot of what we will do will be done with metal.
The building is all concrete. It should actually be pretty low energy to heat and cool once we add a drop ceiling and insulate.
May look into solar panels.
The shop side will be able to have a wood stove for heat in winter.
The purpose of having the huge shop is so eventually he can work for himself and build whatever he wants to sell. . or just build beams for the crew from home.
Half of all that space will just be shop.
I really like your plan for the place and the fact that most of the building will be shop. Gotto make use of those big access doors.

Hell need a Good rolling beam system too. Which he probably knows how to build.... Both for home construction and for Shop construction...

Oh and sound insulation between the house and the shop .... ... air scrubbers for the welding area.... as well as Paint booth....

Where's @LittleLakePhil when I need him?
Trying to change the oil & filter in my Polaris ATV & can't get the drain plug to turn out. Takes a 6mm Allen wrench, which I have, but no telling how long it's been since it's been removed. I bought the machine used & only use it sproradically; haven't changed it myself. Not sure how much pressure it'll take, but I definitely need more torque than what I'm getting with an adjustable wrench handle on the end of the allen wrench. Why does everything I try to do have to turn into a major production? :barnie
