Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

we roll our clocks back tomorrow night!!! :he:barnie
I really really really hate rolling our clocks back!
It's already dark by 5:30 now it will be dark by 4:30 :thand sooner until until almost Christmas. I don't care if I can my coffee cup in the morning, that's why I have electricity. My chooks don't care, it's still too cold to go out. They are happy to stay in their snug warm coop til it warms up. Problem with that is with the clock move it will be dark by the time that happens. We are supposed to have highs in the mid 20's F by mid week which means nights will be near zero (or possibly worse if skies clear) and it potentially won't warm into those 20's until mid afternoon because this time of year there is no such thing as "high noon". Can you tell I am not really thrilled about this time of year til Christmas?
I end up kinda liking the roll back because I will get to see my birds in the morning before I head off to work (at least for a couple weeks anyway). I'm not a big fan of the early darkness, but I'm seldom home before dark on regular days- so it works out okay.

Hope everyone is doing ok with our crazy weather and prayers for all that dwell on the western end of the pond that you are safe from the winds and fires. :hugs
Rain isn't forecasted for another couple of weeks and humidity has been in the low teens. Thankfully the final ingredient for perfect fire weather (wind) is not predicted this week.

Good morning, Pond. @Alaskan all of that pretty much sucks. Hope that today is a better day. We had a hard freeze last night. I'm not complaining as it was long overdue. I picked 44 tomatoes and put them in the cellar for ripening. What am I going to do for lunch when I run out of them ?
I have a few late season tomatoes on some scraggly looking vines that I hope will ripen before frost. :)

I just can't do it no way no how . Phone is just to hard to use . I need one with blind buttons on it .Apps is horses to me :gig Seems like all my time is being eaten up by car repairs ,puppies and farm animals . :th Any how took some puppy pictures today. And just had to share this picture . I may keep this one :idunno View attachment 1950312I like this one tooView attachment 1950317 They finally follow me to the house to eat . Need to fix my bell. got it from the habitat store . lts brass not sure where it came from or how old. Thinking maybe a river boat . I got a thing for brass bells, the sound a lot different than iron .
I love the puppy pics! !! We probably won't ever start a dog from "puppy" again, (when our oldest goes, we will try to find a companion for Zoomer that is his age) but I sure love the cute little bundles of furry energy!

E's sunroof on his car (actually my car, but he's been driving it to let me have the van in case I have to evacuate animals) blew out on his drive home Friday. Loud pop, glass all over - not sure how it happened - Rock? Small crack that finally gave?

Happening around here because of problems with overhead infrastructure and stuff falling. Several recent incidents in NYC on local news. Wasn't something going to be done about that ?

My poor brother, lol. I got SO many texts and a couple calls today about the puppy. He brought him home to his apartment today and was really upset because Vader (the puppy) kept peeing and pooping in the house and 'wouldn't' go outside. I told him to take a deep breath, and I'd come over after I got out of work.

I got there, and got Vader going outside right away, just watching his behavior and whatnot. Not a single accident in the house while I was there. I told my brother he just needs to read his behavior, and take him out frequently and whenever he finishes doing something, like when he finishes playing, or after he wakes up from a nap, or after he finishes chewing on a toy, etc etc. Basically I told him that he needs to set the puppy up for success, and it will be fine.

I also introduced him to clicker training, and puppy knows sit and shake now. I gave him homework and told him to work on Down, and that I'd take Vader for the day on Thursday to keep working on stuff.

This is hilarious! :lau I guess he’s never had a puppy or a small child before.

We are going through this backward puppy phase with my senior dog Meaty. Gotta watch him like a hawk, take him out constantly, can’t rely on him to tell us when he needs to go anymore. I’ve never had a senior who had control issues before. I’m seriously considering getting him diapers.

We lost our seniors over the last 2 years .. Moose is 10 now He was 3 when I took him that was 7 years ago .. Had a chev blazer one of my dog clients owed me money gave me the blazer as payment drove it like 5 years then the back window came out just boom
