Its midnight here ... dang dog got me out of bed... silly gilr... needed someone to hold her hand while she went out the doggy door. She normally waits till i get in the room before she goes out. but she just stood there .... So I turned the kitchen light on... My son had the door locked. I fixed it she went out and barked a little did her business checked all her mail boxes then came back in.

Shes going to have a great life at home when I get her there....shes my sons dog but I am taking her so he can be free to pick a nice apartment. after he sells the house.

speaking of going home...

I have three threads I belong to and enjoy immensely. I hope you don't mind I post the same info on each.

I am packing for the move which should be in February or March.

Jewelry shop will go first I Hope... I need to get the boxes safely organized So I can open only as needed.

But I found another source of stones and tools. I just ordered a few stones and one tool Waiting for it to arrive the company is in Oregon and called Fire mountain gems. I saw some things I couldn't pass up.

When I get home I am going to install my shop in the art studio. I will also set a camera table for making good pictures of my products with good lighting and backdrops. My computer will be on that table as well. And of course since it is my bedroom Telephone internet and bed will be there as well. Did I mention my art/studio is appx 11 x 16 feet. I am adding a master bath and kitchenette as well. so I wont have to run in and out of the house to go to the bathroom.

I will do a Screen for the bed kind of for separation. It will make the room easier to heat with my oil radiator. I hope to move the pot belly down to the art studio after getting a larger one for the main house.

The house is up on piers with a cinder block foundation around it. The art Studio and green house room are on grade and have slab floors. The green house room is a bit larger than the art studio has drains in the floor and one wall is completely open to the outside. Its secured by a Chain-link kennel panel hung on Nails. I hope to secure it better by using staples and safety wire.

It was only to keep the cats in and chickens out. but I don't want it getting bumped and falling in... LOL

Yep.. eldest still wants to be a priest... he wants to try to get a college degree first.. and is moving very slowly through that.. .

And priest school works fine, or you can say seminary, same thing.

The church I go to is new calendar... so we are with the rest of you all. But, most Orthodox churches in Alaska are old calendar so 13 days after us.

That book you got is a great choice.

To be honest... lately I have not been reading from my many excellent books. instead, when I want to do bible reading I have been using the smart phone app Catena. You can set it to "Byzantine Theology" (which is Orthodox) and wow is it fun. On every single bible passage you can click and all of these commentaries pop up. Some of the commentaries are from the year 200 or 300 or what have you. Pretty cool. It is fun to see so many commentaries. In the book, Orthodox study bible, they just can't squeeze in as many commentaries.

But the bible translation used in Catena isn't the exact same that we use...so it is a few books short. The old testament that we use is the Septuagent, or "of the 70".

Yep!

In the oriental Orthodox churches(so Coptic, Ethiopian, Eritrean, etc), it is standard to enter church barefoot... like moses at the burning bush removed his shoes. When the kids and I were researching the died out Celtic Orthodox, we found out that they also removed their shoes. It is one thing to be barefoot in Egypt! But in Scotland??!?!?! Anyway, we were highly impressed. The kids already often went to church barefoot (as you know, standard practice in Alaska to take off nasty shoes when entering a house), but when we read that about the ancient church in Britain, my youngest thought that was the coolest thing ever... and he is named after a Celtic saint... so there ya go! He now refuses to enter the church with shoes! I think it is cool.
found the app! I'm going to have fun, I love it! Finally something positive to do while I'm waiting at all those dr appointments. Thank you my friend.

Good morning Pond. My lily pad is warm this morning. :idunno
Morning Sir Sour,
It's crazy warm here on this end of the pond as well (almost +30F already) and there is this huge bright yellow thing in the sky! Up until now, according to our local weatherman, that has only happened for any length of time anyway, twice this entire month!
