I am glad you have gotten back into it!

My welding kid (#3), has used up all of our scrap metal.

Luckily we just got a new load of scrap for him to play with.

I finally pulled that prefab mini coop out of the box last night. I knew it wouldn’t be great, but holy crap Batman, what a POS! I just kept thinking as I pulled each piece out, “you gotta be kidding me! There’s no way!”
It’s seriously like glorified balsa wood. This was supposed to be one of the better ones. I just can’t even fathom how I’m supposed to put animals that I want to keep happy & alive in this thing. :he

I’m in a real pinch. I not only need this done 2wks ago, but I need another one too.

I was desperate, I bought it, now I’m wondering how could I have ever been THAT desperate? I will put a couple extra coats of stain on this & see if I can reinforce it with zip ties & bubble gum & I will think out how I can build the next one by myself, without DH here.:barnie
I did the same thing a few years ago; $400 worth. First thing I did when I pulled it out of the box was back up the cheap fir, not much thicker than paneling with something a bit more substantial. Next thing I did was copy it, using better material; liked the design.

My most recent one I made using pallet lumber is my best one yet. Very simple and basic, but it gets the job done, with no cost other than labor, except the corrugated roof paneling, half of which was left over from another project.

Would love to see some pictures!
Caught my first ever King Salmon yesterday; a Lake Michigan 7-8 pounder.
6 of us were on a charter trip. Mine was the first of the only two caught; other one was 24 pounds.
Nice! We got to taste some King Salmon on one of our trips to AK. It was delicious!
