Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

PePe the second has now “crossed the rainbow bridge.” I used the .22 this time, but haven’t checked the trap for damage yet. Again, I was able to be upwind, and no one told me I stunk when I came back inside, so apparently I avoided the perfume once again. DH told me where to find a second trap, so I may set that one while the first one is airing out. I’m wondering, though, by having a perpetually set trap, am I encouraging critters to come? Or just potentially snagging whatever comes through?

I doubt you’re luring them in from a distance. You’re very likely catching just the locals.

Although, I remember setting those putrid smelling fly traps & being convinced I had lured every fly in SD County into my yard, so what do I know? 🤷‍♀️

I don't think so...

But hard to have it perpetually set... since you need to keep refreshing the bait.

If we think something might be out there... we set a trap for a week.
