Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Does anyone have any experience with hatching doubles? I had one in a dozen I bought and since I paid for it figured I'd give it a shot. :idunno it goes into lockdown tomorrow. I honestly didn't think it would make it to lockdown.
Never done it myself.

But I think usually one or both don't make it.

Tell us how yours does.

Yeah, I've got my fingers crossed and I'll definitely keep as close an eye on it as possible and help where needed. And if I lose one well, technically still a plus since it was only one egg after all. If I lose both well, I gave it my best.

Never had that experience, but have read where they'll sometimes hatch but one or both chicks don't live long.

There are a few more videos about this subject. This was the shortest one. 😊

morning pond!
my chooks are wishing they were ducks!!! Two days in a row of late day overnight thunderstorms and the pattern is supposed to continue thru the weekend. Weird weather pattern that has us breaking record highs. Way too hot for this time of year. In the 60's right now and could reach the 70's later. That's July weather for us!!! My poor little snow pup is just laying around. Starts to pant if she moves much. She'll be happier soon. We have a chance for snow next week.

My Iowa son says weather has been insane. 80's then 30's... He hasn't been there in spring yet (Covid forced him home last spring) and wasn't sure if this is just normal Midwest weather.

Question for you all.
Some of you know I have an absolute fetish for collecting non-fiction books, especially really old ones. Anyway, I have reached the point where I've been forced to prioritize and thin out a few categories I won't be able have room for any "new" old treasures I'm sure to find once the flea markets etc. start up again. (which is looking good to go at least up here). Anyway my question is this; I have 6 poultry related books, all of which but one are pre-1900, and the newer is a rare original on the subject of building open concept coops for cold climates. Where should I post to see if there's any interest in them? Only one I would say is in "collectible" condition, tho they all are otherwise clean and solid.
