Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Trying to figure out the "which birds to cull?" this fall question. We had almost no predator or Marek's issues, so we are way over-populated for a dormant winter. (I generally over populate knowing I will lose a few.) I'm contemplating taking any hen 2+ yrs. except the super friendly ones. Thoughts? That will still leave me with roughly 30 birds.
Cockerels first, unthrifty birds next, and last :( the old non-laying birds.

I am with Sour.

But also cull for personality.

Any egg eaters, super bullies. Anyone that goes after chicks or isn't a good flockmate.

Yeah. That's about the line I was drawing, but always good to have it confirmed. I hate culling hens, even the non-producing ones, but I know it's just not great flock management to keep all of them.
Middle to end of October is usually a good time to do the "deed" because I rarely ever find an egg during processing (that's the worst - even when I KNOW that's probably the only egg they've laid for the last 6 months!)

So I get in my truck and there's something dangling in front of the right lens of my glasses. I remove a small spider and put the glasses back on. Then there was a small spider hanging in front of my left eye. I'm getting scared.
I would been out of that truck so fast make your head spin :lau
