I have not had tofu in years (almost thirty), but I eat a lot of black beans to replace hamburger, and chickpeas to replace chicken. It’s cheaper than buying meat in the store, and more convenient than chasing the flock. :lol:
You have to really work it to make it look & taste right. I don’t mind putting the time in as long as it keeps me from eating a boring, white, protein sponge. 🤢🤮
 
The meat in our freezer is chickens we have raised, venison we have gotten and processed ourselves or beef purchased from a neighbor that averaged just over $3/lb including processing. I have no idea what it costs in the store…
I know. I told E that we just need to get our processing done and eat what we have running around outside. (No, not the ground squirrels, although I hear they're not bad in a pinch! :gig
