Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

In our church choir, there's only the pastor (who also plays guitar), the pianist's daughter my two kids and I and two other ladies. My son is a strong bass, the pianist's daughter is a strong alto, and I'm the strong soprano. One of the other ladies sings so quietly that she can't be heard and the other tends to get off key and not be able get back on. My husband runs the sound system. Our pianist asked him to please turn the mic way down for the one who's always off key. I feel bad for her but at the same time it's hard to hide otherwise.

Enjoy the time as it may never be again .. Enjoy !
Absolutely enjoying it! I call it blessed chaos. The one and two year olds emptied the cupboards and drawers with the plastic dishes, measuring cups and measuring spoons. While they were doing that, the three older ones (3,4, and 5) were wreaking havoc in my basement. I’m not even going to bother looking down there until they leave.

Hello, Pond!
It’s a great weekend on my lily pad! All the kids and grandkids are here. As I look around, though, I find myself wondering why I thought I needed to clean the house BEFORE we had 5 kids, 3 dogs, half a dozen deer hunters and other miscellaneous people in the house….
We used to have fairly large gatherings at our house and my cleaning routine was - just make the bathrooms sanitary and clear the clutter, but so not sweep or mop until after they leave!

If I could count the times I told my sound people to "bury those vocals"... 😂 Only sometimes, "those vocals" is ME!! :gig I tell ya, the whole live streaming thing was a rude awakening for me. I learned a ton and now use an in-ear monitor when I sing - amazing how hearing yourself above the drummer helps with pitch correction!

Chillin' (literally) on my lily pad. Good morning.
morning Sir Sour!
A bit crunchy here this morning too. First time this year I had to shovel my way to the coop and clear a patch for the puppers to do her thing. It's ok, it was time for Mother Nature to cover her care with their winter blanket so they can now safely nap til spring.

Dudes... overly stressed....

I have been doing the church choir stuff... but now I am having to incorporate another person....

SO HARD FOR ME!!!! I have to be incredibly careful... people get bent out of shape over music incredibly easily... and I am terribly worried of hurting feelings.

And this guy works long hours... so not like he can practice much with me... got him to practice for only one hour this past week.... just...

I am not a great singer... so if he bellows out... all off key... it scrambles the music in my head and I can't sing it correctly.

I already swapped out one song... because he kept singing it SO LOUDLY and so very off that my sons and I just could not get him back on track... and it is a song my sons (if he weren't there singing it wrong) sing well.

But just... :barnie I want everyone who wants to sing to sing.... and I am happy for people that sing terribly to sing. But it is hard if they sing terribly and loudly and stand right at your shoulder.

ALSO.... church council meeting is tomorrow.

:hit :hit :hit :barnie

Incredibly stressful
Are you able to talk to the pastor ?
