Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

My washing machine died. In the rainy season. With 16 paws to constantly dry.

I don’t think I killed this one. My style is zap into instant death. This one died slowly over the course of 3hrs on Christmas. I think it’s the pump, but the repair guy is going to charge us half the price of a new one to replace it & it will take some time. We’re looking at the old Sears outlet for a new scratched & dented one.

At least one of the unexpected chicks gifted to us is a cockerel. How does someone screw up a sex link? :heFrankie is so attached to this little bird… I don’t know what to do.:hit

I think we’re going to try to keep the broken washer & replace the pump ourselves. DH is not super handy with this stuff, but the pumps are reasonable on Amazon & we can watch YouTube videos. We might actually have it replaced by the time I kill the new one.
I had kid 5 do that on ours.

I ordered the part, told kid to figure it out on Videos... he had to find the videos himself...

At one point the 15 year old helped a bit...

But... the point is... it worked just fine.

Our part works fine.... BUT it is way louder than the old one.

I bought an aftermarket one off of Amazon... I couldn't find a name brand one.

It was a "good grief!!" Because to replace the pump ...... the back, and top, AND front, including sealed front loader door... all had to be removed.

First wash it leaked... but #5 kid fixed it..

Second time through it worked great (but louder)

We are "mildly handy" but YouTube has been so great for E - he replaced brakes, fixed an automatic window on the van, and even learned how to install a wall oven all thanks to video tutorials!

Your boys are going to make great husbands with all the man-points they're racking up learning all this stuff!!
I used to tally man-points for my "never touched a power tool" boys in drama whenever they successfully cut, drilled, or painted without cutting, drilling or painting themselves in the process! 😄

I totally thought of your kids & wondered if you’d let me borrow one. Flights from Alaska would be cheaper than a new dent & scratch machine. I don’t care how loud it is, I just need clean.

:barnieIs having clean stuff in a world full of chaos too much to ask?:barnie

A messy busy household without a functional washer and dryer.... is yes... horrid

:hugs

A good project on a cold winter day…
