Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Ahh, what a day! It was a *day* at school. I came home, made a quick trip to town with DH to get our deer licenses, then came home and spent two blissful hours in my kayak. I finally met my goal of paddling around the little lake below our place. It was so peaceful!

Then I went to pick eggs and discovered that Broody Betty appears to be broody once again. She was in the nest box, one of her 8 week old pullets with her. She refused to move when I reached under to get the eggs out from under her. So now the question is, do I let her sit or not? And if I do, do I get more neighbor eggs, or see if any of my chickens’ eggs start to develop? My cockerels are about 4 months old. I have seen the blue one trying to mount a few pullets, but never one of the older girls. But I haven’t been spending a lot of time with the birds lately, so that really doesn’t mean anything.

Ooh! Speaking of my cockerels, not only do I have a Blue Andalusian cockerel, I think I also have a pullet! They are so pretty!

Not much else going on here on the prairie. Have a great rest of your week!
