Depends on what “cold” is. If I set her tomorrow, chicks would hatch Sept. 30, Oct. 1. It can sometime get below freezing by the end of the month but not usually for extended periods. November can have highs in the 40s and 50s, lows in the 20s sometimes. Or not. I’m thinking I’ll give her half a dozen eggs, candle them in a week, and see if they’re even developing. If not, I’ll break her. Her poor “ babies”. They haven’t figured out that she’s done with them, so they’re trying to be in the nest with her, or on top of the nest box!
Chickies!!!
Well... it is a bit late in the season... depending on when you get cold....
Nice about the blue Andalusian pullet!
Huh.... not sure...Any ideas?
