Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

A few photos from today.

Smallish porcupine on my driveway. There was a huge one at the church yesterday, but i didn't get a photo of that one.

And Sandhill cranes. It was a full family. Set of parents and 2 colts. But of course I could only get 1 of each to pose for me. I was careful to stay very far away. Note the FUZZ on that baby!!!

Hello, Pond!

I hope you are well. The Camp season ended on Thursday. We fed 35 little cherubs and 22 staff. Re-entry back into the real world is going slowly. I went into Thursday on about 4 hours of sleep. Totally my fault. I may or may not have stayed up and participated in some shenanigans. Like the culmination of the invasion of little rubber duckies that slowly took over the dining hall all week. Or overseeing the inflation of a giant rubber duckie that the kids saw first thing when they came in for breakfast. Or maybe inspiring one of my kitchen helpers to put a potato on the doorstep of every cabin after the lights out bell. (The ducks weren’t my idea.)

I stayed up because it was the last night of camp and I figured I could go home on Thursday, go to bed and sleep as long as I wanted on Friday. Great plan except that I didn’t fall asleep until after 1:00 am and my mom called at 2:45 needing to go to the ER. She checked out fine, but we didn’t get discharged until 8:00. I got home at 8:30 and slept until noon, then went back to bed at 10:00 last night and slept 11 1/2 hours.

Today I set my broody hen. She’s been planted in a wooden box since Wednesday according to DH. I gave her 12 of today’s eggs so they’re nice and fresh. I still need to go out to the greenhouse and water and weed, and weed the garden.

I hope you’re all having a fabulous weekend!

There were a total of 30 duckies in various places. Fifteen of them appeared throughout the week.
